Lauren Connors started her journey on the fight against substance use disorder working at the Edwina Martin Women’s Recovery House and with The Family Center helping connect children and families to various services as well as working as an advocate with Drug Endangered Children. From hearing the stories of so many and her own personal experience of substance use, relapse, and recovery, she was inspired to complete the Recovery Coach Academy through the Connecticut Community for Addiction (CCAR). In September 2021, Lauren accepted the part-time role as a Recovery Coach for Plymouth County Outreach. In January 2022, Lauren accepted a full-time role with Plymouth County Outreach with a focus in providing resources to individuals currently in or recently released from incarceration at the Plymouth County House of Correction.

Lauren is also a certified facilitator of Nurturing families in Recovery, Nurturing Fathers, and Parenting Journey in Recovery, as well as the National DEC Alliance.
