Michelle Ellis
Recovery Coach Supervisor
Michelle is a compassionate recovery professional with deep experience in supporting individuals and families navigating substance use and mental health challenges. She began her journey in 2021 as a Per Diem Recovery Coach for Plymouth County Outreach while attending Westfield State University. She has since dedicated over 5,000 hours of combined formal education, professional training, and guided and supervised practical experience. Michelle is currently pursuing her Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification.
After completing the ARCC Program at Westfield State University, she continued her education in Youth Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders, Neurobiology of Addiction for Youth and Young Adults: Undertaking professional development through leading organizations including the Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, Massachusetts Board of Substance Abuse Counselor Certification, Boston Medical Center, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, Hazelden betty ford foundation, NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals and Choice Recovery Coaching.
Her expertise encompasses grief support, case management, group facilitation, and community education, including facilitating educational workshops, public awareness initiatives, and training sessions on multiple pathways to recovery, harm reduction strategies, and Narcan administration. She also holds extensive certifications and formal instruction in domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy, Mental Health First Aid, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and volunteers with Plymouth County’s LOSS Team.
Celebrating 20 years of her own personal recovery, Michelle brings lived experience, empathy, and authenticity to support individuals and families through recovery, healing and navigating grief support. She has become a trusted guide, with a practice that encompasses the full landscape of recovery, blending her own journey as a woman in recovery with the wisdom of the mentors who shaped her path. As she embraces this next chapter, Michelle brings her lived experience with heartfelt warmth, unwavering empathy, and authenticity. Planting the seeds to grow in her own recovery alongside her steadfast commitment and dedication to those she serves throughout our recovery community.
