PLYMOUTH COUNTY — Plymouth County Outreach is pleased to announce its participation in the National Drug Take Back Day this weekend.

WHEN:

Saturday, Oct. 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE:

  • Plymouth Police Department, 20 Long Pond Road, Plymouth
  • Cedarville Fire Station (front of building), 2209 State Road, Plymouth

WHAT:

Plymouth County Outreach (PCO) will be collecting unwanted, expired or unused prescription drugs as part of National Drug Take Back Day, a biannual, free, no-questions-asked event that gives the community the opportunity to aid in the fight against substance use disorder by disposing of potentially dangerous prescription drugs.

As part of this event, community members can drop off unwanted pills, patches and vaping devices, but not liquids. Used sharps will be collected, but must be placed in a hard plastic container, such as a detergent bottle, before bringing them to the take back event.

Additionally, attendees will be able to take home a free Narcan kit, Deterra pouches to dispose of prescription pills safely at home, and/or resource kits and other information regarding substance use disorder.

The event is being co-hosted with Plymouth Youth Development Collaborative (PYDC) through Plymouth Public Schools, the Plymouth Police Department and the Plymouth Fire Department.

Questions about PCO’s Take Back Day events can be directed to Jordyn Nelson at jnelson@plymouthcountyoutreach.org

Additional Take Back Day collection sites can be found at dea.gov/takebackday.
