The importance of recovery month is to spread awareness and rejoice together in the celebration of those living with, surviving addiction and mental health recovery. The concept of recovery wasn’t always widely recognized or at times even accepted in the past as it is today. Tirelessly and wholeheartedly the recovery community is dedicated to the cause of creating change, we are the voices needing to be heard. We are those who are fighting the stigma, educating, supporting and advocating on behalf of ourselves, every person, every family and every community. No one is to stand alone.

“Prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.” – SAMHSA The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Agency
